Applies to:
All MK3's and 3.5's

Step one open the bonnet and locate the plastic grille, this needs to be removed,
push the flat screwdriver between it and the bumper and twist,
this will snap the grille but it wont be needed, as the brackets wont allow it to be refitted.
Step two look down the side of the headlamps and you will notice a series of holes in a triangle,
these are the mounting points for the brackets.
|
|
Step three, notice that the brackets have LH and RH on them meaning left and right.
Make sure you have the correct one for the side you are working on.
Get the nuts, bolts and washers, make sure you put a washer on the bolt
then put it through the bracket then through the mounting hole on the car,
then another washer and finally the nut. Do this for the remaining two holes
and tighten up with the 10MM socket and spanner.
|
|
Repeat this on the other side and the brackets are installed.
Push the lamps onto the brackets and tighten up the 13MM nuts and bolts making sure the lese is secure.
|
|
Step four, wiring them up.
The wiring for me was easy as I already had the fog light wiring from this guide Here
so all I did was push the wires into the plug.
You can follow the following guides for installing these to come on with a switch
XR/SI Fogs
Aftermarket Fogs
RS/XR2I
|
|
Or you can wire them direct into the main beam circuit so they come on when
you flash or have main beam on all the time.
To do this you need to earth the brown wire to the earthing points
in the inner wings and connect the white wire to the white on the plug for the headlight.
|
|
Close the bonnet and admire your hard work.
|
|
And that's all for this guide,
Hope this guide is of some help
