When you buy a lower spec Fiesta you may notice that there is no electric mod cons fitted.
In this little guide we show you how to install not one but two boot lights using genuine ford parts.
We also show you how to instal the speaker wires.

Tools Needed:

Socket Set
Torx bit set
Screw Drivers
Knife
Wire cutters/strippers
Soldering Equipment
Drill and bits
Insulation Tape

Light me up!

And we have light

Thats quite handy

Open your boot, if it's a higer spec model the wiring should be there.

Check by removing the plastic trim on the right hand side of the boot,
the wire should be dangleing.

If so grab it and push it up through the hole for the speaker wires.

Refit the trim.

On the parcel shelf support there will be a perforated rectangle.
Hit it hard and it will drop out, or you could cut it up to you.

Now you will need the bulb (can't tell what wattage it is) and its clear plastic holder

light

Place it into the hole and you now have a boot light.

if you are wondering if the light will be on all the time, well it wont as the
switch is in the contact plate, the far right plate is spring loaded, that's the switch

Disconnect the battery otherwise you will get a shock like I did.

If your car does not have the wires there like mine you will need to go to a
scrap yard and get them.

I found it was best to remove the single red wire from the loom all the way to the fuse box.
Cut the cable and take it out in the boot.

The brown wire from the bulb goes to the switch, again strip it out and make sure you have the connector on it,
or you can cut it off in the boot and make a loom yourself.
it is also a good idea to get the higher spec contact plates, you might need them, depends on your car.
The connector you need is shown below on the far right of the block.
Shown below is the complete loom for the boot including four speaker wires.

From the switch one brown will have to be earthed, this can be done at the point in the boot.

Solder the red/brown wire to the interior light circuit at the fuse box,
so it can power the bulb. Insulate the joints/wires and hide the wire under the trim all the way to
the boot, ideally using cable ties.

Route the cables nice and neat,

Put a bulb in

Reconnect the battery

If the boot is open the light should be on. Press the spring contact plate and it
should make the light go out. If so you're done.

If you find that one light isn't bright enough like I did, you may want to get
another from a scrap yard like above and either crimp it or solder it to
the right hand wires.

Hide the wires along the front edge of the boot securing as you go up behind
the trim and install like above.

Feed the plugs up to the lights and speakers shown below.
