Funky Sound
Thats quite handy
Step one is to remove the door cards, remove all the screws arrowed and pull
off the trims, this will reveail the original speakers.
With the door card removed you can see the mounting points/screws,
remove these and hit the speaker from the side to dislodge it from the door.
with the speaker in hand you will notice the ford wiring plug, pull free from the speaker, you may need to rock it a bit to release it.
you can either lob off the plug if you dont intend on fitting the
original speakers back in or you can do what i did and create adaptors.
these are made up of 4 connectors and 2 bits of wire per speaker.
now you need to move onto the fitting of the speakers, you will find that
non of the holes will line up so you will need to drill the door to accept new speakers.
Place the speaker into the hole and mark on the door where it needs to be drilled,
use a drill bit smaller than the screw that you will be using.
Paint the new holes to stop rusting,
connect up the speaker to the ford wiring and secure the speaker to the door
i used some rubber grommets between the speakers and the door to stop vibration.
screw down firmly.
Refit the door card and the rest of the trim and crank the sound up,
And there you have it .. You should have a fully working and with a bit more extra sound or bass!
