Believe it or not on the poverty spec fiestas there was no glove box door!
Ford must have hit an all time low when these fiestas were rolled off the
production line as it shouldn't have cost much more to add a bit of plastic to cover the gaping hole in the dash.
In this guide I will show you how to install the door to plug the gap and make the dash complete.
Tools Needed:
Pozi drive middle size screwdriver
Flat blade small size screwdriver
Parts Needed:
Glove box door

Fill that hole!

Ohhhh a door
going up in the world!
Applies to:
Poverty spec Mk3's

Acquire a glove box door from Ebay or some other source,
if you get one from a scrap yard you will need to read the guide in reverse to help you to remove it.
Here is what you need:
Glove box door
Catch
3 screws
3 spring clips
|
|
First off we will start by removing the small blanking plugs from your dashboard.
These are located in the lip around where the glove box door would sit.
Use the flat bladed screwdriver and carefully prise the plastic up and remove it.
Repeat this for the other side of the glove box.
|
|
Now move onto the larger blanking plugs located in the base of the glove box,
using the same method as above to remove them then repeat this for the other side of the glove box.
|
|
You may notice that the larger holes do not have a screw hole in them, rather just a slot.
This is where the spring clips come in.
Insert one into the hole with the bent part down and the flat part upwards.
Slot it in and push it to the end. Repeat this for the other side of the glove box.
|
|
Next move onto the top edge of the glove box opening, you will notice just a large hole and a smaller hole behind it,
again you will need to fit one of the spring clips into this in the same method as above.
|
|
With that spring clip in place you can angle the locking catch into the larger hole and secure it with the single screw,
this screw must go through the hole in the spring clip.
|
|
Get hold of the glove box door and angle the upright curved bits into the small holes
in the sides that you removed the blanking plugs from and hook it in there.
As it is hooked in you will notice that the bottom of the door and the hinges will
line up with the bottom holes in the dashboard where you put the spring clips previously.
Using the two screws that you should have left, carefully secure the hinges to the dashboard.
|
|
And there you have it, a simple yet satisfying guide to complete the look of the dashboard.

|
Hopefully this will help you
