First off, raise and support the front end of the car high enough for you to work safely under it.
Locate the lower arm carriers and look for a hole near the inner side
that may or may not have a square raised lip around the edge.
This is one mounting hole that will require cleaning out.
Start on the drivers side Push the square captive nut into the square lip until it clicks in place.
Note that some early models don't have the lip, some do,
some have a nut with no thread that will need tapping, and some have no hole.
The passenger side is a little more difficult as the gearbox cradle is in the way to fit the captive nut,
Simple fix here is to slacken off the lower arm cradle bolts and allow the cradle to be gently prised
out of the way to allow the nut to be inserted.
Tighten up the cradle then remove the first bolt from the floor to arm cradle mounts.
Now if your car still has its original exhaust hanger on the gearbox,
remove the ones on the s brace as they just get in the way.
Offer up the s brace, it will only go one way, bolt it up using the
new bolts into the captive nuts and the two bolts you removed from the floor.
Make sure they are tight and admire your work.
