At some point your fiesta will suffer from rust, tin worm or rot,
and when it's MOT time this will become a problem and an instant failure.
Like it was for me, this was brake pipe insecure and excessive corrosion
within prescribed area of a seatbelt anchorage,
Tools Needed:
Grinder
Wire brush
Trolley Jack
Axle Stands
Welder
Sheet Metal
Repaired
Top job
:)
The rust, doesn't look too bad
LOL Looks are deceiving
Push the pipe out of the way and use a wire brush or angle grinder or dremel to clean the area up.
Notice that the hole has got bigger and bigger until you get to fresh metal.
Make a paper template for the area then cut out the metal for that size.
Clamp it onto the bodywork and start to tack weld it, this makes sure the panel doesn't overheat.
Go back around filling in between the tacks, until you have a complete weld
Secure the bracket back to the metal by welding.
Underseal the lot and that's it done,
Hope this guide helps in some way.
